I met up last weekend with my friend Emma for my belated birthday lunch & see gave me the most fantastic present. She had done a portrait of Jasper & I, based on the photo of us on the
about page. She has her own business LongDog Art, where she specialises in what she terms “Quasi-abstract” pet portraits using a limited palette. Her work reminds me of that of Andy Warhol in some respects & certainly has a bit of a “Pop-Art” influence running through it. But ultimately as you can see from Jasper’s portrait (& me) she is an incredibly talented artist, who offers a very different approach to your standard pet portrait portrayed in pastels. She manages to capture the real esssence of the animals she’s painting, I can even see the cheeky glint in Jasper’s eye, plotting his next scheme to share with Dexter.
If you want your horse immortalised for ever on canvas in a striking picture that will leap off the wall at you for years to come then I highly highly recommend her, she does amazing dogs &
cats, well actually I think she’d tackle any Pet Portrait for you.
Have a look at her website: http://www.longdog-petportraits.co.uk (Its also under my recommended links down the left hand edge. They also make amazing presents as they are completely orginal.
I absolutely adore mine & now Jasper has his rightful pride of place on my wall too, where he can be admired by even more people.
Until next time
With Love
Fiona & Jasper
